TEMPUR-PEDIC BREAKS GROUND ON HEADQUARTERS EXPANSION IN LEXINGTON: OCT. 3, 2011
Governor Steve Beshear and Lexington Mayor Jim Gray joined community leaders and officials from Tempur-Pedic on October 3, 2011, to break ground for the company’s global headquarters expansion in Lexington, Kentucky. The new approximately 125,000-square-foot facility in UK’s Coldstream Research Campus is expected to create 65 new jobs, bringing its total employment to just over 300 in the next five years.

TIFFANY & CO. OFFICIALLY OPENS MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN LEXINGTON, KY: SEPT. 27, 2011
Governor Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear joined Tiffany & Co. Chairman and CEO Michael J. Kowalski and Lexington Mayor Jim Gray on September 27, 2011, to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s new jewelry manufacturing center in Lexington. Community leaders and guests were invited to breakfast at Tiffany to commence the opening, which is creating 125 jobs in the community.

FLORIDA TILE CELEBRATES OPENING OF NEW HEADQUARTERS IN LEXINGTON: SEPT. 16, 2011
Governor Steve Beshear joined community leaders and company officials from Florida Tile on September 16, 2011, to cut the ribbon on the company's new headquarters facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Florida Tile announced in July 2009 it was moving its headquarters from Lakeland, Fla., to Lexington. The opening will initially create 25 new jobs, growing to 51 over the term of the incentive agreement. Florida Tile's capital investment in the project exceeds $3.7 million.

Public Policy Luncheon presented by Kentucky American Water on August 17, 2011, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and Lexington Mayor Jim Gray discussed the reason advanced manufacturing was selected as the focal point of an economic business plan by the Brookings Institution.

KY. INTERIM JOINT COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & TOURISM: JUNE 16, 2011
In front of the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Interim Joint Committee on Economic Development and Tourism, John S. Petterson, senior vice president of operations and manufacturing for Tiffany & Co., recounted the process of how the company made the decision to locate its manufacturing plant in Lexington, Kentucky. The list of site locations went from 50 to 5 to 1, and Petterson said, "Lexington just felt right." In the end, it was the attention to detail that made the difference.
ALLCONNECT CELEBRATES OPENING OF NEW FACILITY IN LEXINGTON: JULY 11, 2011
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear joined community leaders and company officials from Allconnect Inc., a leading consumer services company, to celebrate the opening of the company's new in-bound sales and customer care center in Lexington. The company announced its decision to locate the new facility in the Coldstream Research Campus earlier this year. The project represents a nearly $7 million investment and approximately 220 to 250 new jobs for the community.

NEOGEN ANNOUNCES EXPANSION IN LEXINGTON: JUNE 28, 2011
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear was on hand at a press conference to announce plans by Neogen to expand in Lexington, KY. Neogen will utilize a 100,000-square foot facility on Mercer Road, adding about 75 new jobs and a capital investment of more than $5.6 million over the next several years.
